As a scholar, researcher, and creative practitioner of design, I employ systems thinking as a critical framework in my practice. With a specific focus on sustainability and regenerative systems, I actively seek out and identify opportunities for collaborative research. To support my work, I have established and lead The Bio-Fiber Lab, a research lab that encompasses a transdisciplinary approach, combining scientific methods of inquiry, design-based methodologies, and cultural craft traditions. This integration extends to the production as well as the dissemination of knowledge, encompassing both cultural practices and scholarly realms. The Biofober Lab supports several funded research, education and stakeholder engagement projects that look specifically at hemp fiber processing and material prototyping for bio-product applications.
