Nick DiDomenico
DAR - Drylands Agroecology Research
Director of Land Stewardship
Hailing from the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Nick is a regenerative farmer, designer, and builder. Inspired by indigenous culture and ancient farming practices, he works passionately to design the future of living systems. In 2015, Nick began farming on a barren and desertified 14 acre parcel of land in Boulder County. Now a thriving homestead with thousands of trees in contour systems, Elk Run has become the pilot research project for Drylands Agroecology Research 501c3 (DAR), the nonprofit he founded with his wife Marissa Pulaski. DAR is a collective of farmers, activists, scientists and educators with the purpose of regenerating landscapes to improve life on earth. Nick leads the Land Stewardship branch of DAR, focusing on innovating strategies for building highly resilient ecological habitats that provide for human needs (food, fiber, fuel, fodder, building). DAR has planted over 15,000 trees on 7 partner farms through Nick’s leadership. Today, Nick is working to develop climate change solutions through regenerative farming practices, working with private and public landowners across Boulder County.
