A 12-story building with 50 apartments just completed in Cape Town, South Africa, was recently declared the world’s tallest structure using hempcrete blocks. Hemp composites are beginning to compete with other carbon fibers for high performance use in everything from automobiles to laminates. And the development of hemp-based plastics is only beginning.
